Job Summary - Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Talladega College invites applications for the position of Assistant to the Provost/VP of Academic Affairs beginning August 2017. The Assistant to the Provost/VP of Academic Affairs is a part-time 12-month position which reports directly to the Provost/VP of Academic Affairs. Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Provost/VP of Academic Affairs Supervises: No supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities: May include, but not limited to the following: Assists the Provost's direct reports and academic departments - Assists in policy development as requested concerning the division - Coordination of special projects, workshops, retreats, luncheons, institutes, etc. for Provost - Addresses questions and concerns related to academic matters and directs inquiries to appropriate campus resources - Assists with projects related to retention - Resolves student concerns/complaints - Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

A Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required; doctorate preferred with a minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience in higher education.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
