Job Summary


Reporting to the Director of Residential Life, the Resident Center Manager is a 9 month, full time, professional staff member who will be responsible for all aspects of the residential program at Talladega College.


  1. Training and supervision of Resident Assistants
  2. Coordinating programming efforts with an emphasis on faculty involvement in all educational activities
  3. Promoting a healthy and positive residential hall government
  4. Responsible for the overall decorum of the dorms and reporting all necessary repairs to the Facilities Department
  5. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor


  • High school diploma or equivalent GED is required or related field and previous professional experience in residential life is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a college or university residential life program
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office, planning, budgeting, team building, supervising, advising, presenting, and training
  • Proven leadership and experience in working with a diverse student population
  • Experience in all aspects of residential living in a college or university, emergency response and judicial affairs
  • Have a willingness to accept professional growth and development training as it relates to residential life

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
