Job Summary


The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the men's soccer program. The coach will be expected to know and adhere to NAIA rules and regulations. This position is a part-time, 9 month assignment, reporting to the Director of Athletics. The soccer coach is responsible for developing a strategy, planning and running practice sessions, and motivating their team. Responsible for the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student athletes in a rigorous academic environment; scheduling and budget management and travel arrangements. Must spend time analyzing game film to correct problem areas and put the team in the best position to win. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and collegiate coaching experience is required. Master's degree and college head coaching experience preferred. Must have demonstrated knowledge of NAIA and GCAC rules and a commitment to the academic development of student athletes required. Must be a strong communicator and motivator; should be organized and able to delegate, with a firm grasp of how to improve both individuals and the team as a whole. Individual will also need good analytical skills, and spend a vast majority of time observing potential recruits, as well as the competition, in attempting to build a successful program. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, students, parents and alumni from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
