Job Summary

Reporting directly to the President, the Assistant provides support in a one-on-one working relationship and must be creative and enjoy working within a small environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external constituencies on matters pertaining to the Office of the President.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Board of Trustees and senior administrative staff; organizes and coordinates executive internal and external relations efforts; and assist with special projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of agenda for the College Board of Trustees' meetings for review with the President. Issues agenda with appropriate backup materials and arranges for presence of appropriate college directors, deans, and department heads at trustees' meetings.
  • Work on annual President's report.
  • Assist with the day to day operations of the Office of the President in general.
  • Works closely and effectively with the President to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
  • Must have a sense of the issues taking place in the environment and keeping the President updated.
  • Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
  • Ensure that the President's bio is kept updated and responds to requests for materials regarding the President and the organization in general.
  • Responsible for the development of Public Relations material.
  • Work with Public Relations as it relates to all social media outlets. Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including: develop relevant content topics to reach the company's target customers. Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written).
  • Send out monthly communications to alumni.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. The ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
