Job Summary

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Information Technology provides administrative leadership to execute information technology activities that support student, faculty and administrative extensions. This position will provide administrative leadership to the full-service support unit in the College; create and manage high performance teams; direct assigned personnel and recommend staffing changes to assure the College’s position as a leader in information and communications technologies; provide leadership for needs assessment, strategic planning, special initiatives, and budgetary information to meet College information technology needs; participates in the development of grants, contracts, and gifts to support information technology objectives; keep abreast of technology advancements and applicants through internal and external contacts; establish working relationships with other College offices, groups and administrators as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in computer science or related field is required. Five years related work experience in technology assessment, planning and analysis, and customer service in an educational setting is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as technical expertise are required. Experience working with JENZABAR preferred.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
