Talladega College Fast Track degree-completion program allows working adults the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in business in an accelerated format. This exciting program is cohort – based where learners remain within their small group either on-line or in the classroom. The Director reports to the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs and will manage all degree-completion program aspects in cooperation with appropriate department heads and administrative office directors.

  • Develops and implements program recruitment and retention goals and operational plans for meeting them
  • Recruit faculty-facilitators for the program in cooperation with the appropriate department heads and Business Dean.
  • Supervise the revision and development of the adult learner curriculum in cooperation with the appropriate faculty facilitators.
  • Develops marketing plan, holds information meetings, follow-up telephone, and e-mail correspondence.
  • Holds video conferences with Faculty and students regularly and as needed.
  • Coaches prospective learners through the admissions process and serves as the advisor to all students enrolled in the program.
  • Conduct an advising session at least once per semester with each student.
  • Schedule all classes planned for the year.
  • Supervises the evaluation of the curriculum and instruction, assuring quality control.
  • Prepares monthly reports for the Provost on program recruitment/retention profiles.
  • Advertise the program, participate in weekly recruiting activities/events, and meet quarterly recruitment goals.
  • Prepare promotional literature for the program.
  • Oversee and assist personnel in the Fast Track program office.
  • Represent the program to campus and community groups.
  • Works collaboratively with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research to provide and analyze data and submit reports as requested.
  • Ongoing collaboration with the Faculty Manager is required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred.  Skills in organizational management supervision and program promotion highly desired.  Experience in teaching adults or background in Continuing Education.  Sound administrative skills; well-developed management skills, and strong interpersonal skills; including excellent leadership and teamwork skills required.  Proven ability to recruit and motivate personnel in order to balance strength with growth of the program.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
