Responsibilities
Include representing the College at high school and college information programs requiring extensive travel; interviewing and assisting in the evaluation of applicants; mail and telephone follow-ups; maintaining frequent contact with applicants, parents, and guidance counselors; conducting prospective interviews and information sessions and packaging of new student financial aid. Responsibilities also include territory management and the ability to perform other duties and projects related to recruitment and admissions as assigned. The counselor reports to the Director of Admissions. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license required. Should have a solid understanding of private college admissions. Must possess outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and display familiarity with electronic communications, Microsoft Office and database systems. Must be willing to travel and work independently and be self-regulating. This position requires a flexible working schedule to attend/work events that are outside the normal business hours.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
