Job Summary

Talladega College seeks academically qualified and experienced online adjunct instructors for online teaching opportunities with Talladega College. Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and facilitate a meaningful of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the Talladega College online learning environment.
  • Successful completion of the Talladega College Online Certification Training course.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format and to work online with students on a daily basis.
  • Access to personal computer, broadband internet services, and other requirements set forth in the Talladega College Distance Learning Manual.
  • Allocate approximately 10-15 hours per course per week.
  • Develops an understanding of and maintains a commitment to the mission of the college.
  • Prepare online classroom
  • Check in on course frequently at a minimum of once every 48 hours.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in online class.
  • Regularly check in with Online Faculty Manager regarding any course issues.
  • Meet college grading deadlines and maintain compliance with online faculty minimum guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Online teaching experience, preferably using Jenzabar.
  • A minimum of a master's degree in discipline or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
  • Expertise in the subject area of the course.
  • Successfully complete online training program.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
