This position requires designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional material; maintaining instructional records; advisement; and retention.
• Teaches assigned courses in classroom settings to meet program needs including, but not limited to, day, evening, weekend, and distance courses.
• Evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback
• Develops course syllabi and provides appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
• Explores, assesses, and implements appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades as established by institutional policy.
• Maintains appropriate office hours and accessibility for students, faculty, and staff
• Candidate is expected to teach up to three courses in Sociology, including introductory sociology.
• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution
• Ability to work effectively and collegially with others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Teaching experience at the college level required
• Experience with online instruction preferred
• PhD in Sociology

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
