Assistant Band Director
The Assistant Band Director will provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state, and college requirements. Will also assist the Director of Bands in running a comprehensive band program, including recruiting, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Band in all marching band activities
Assist in recruiting efforts of band students
Enforces academic requirements
Assist the Band with Arranging Music
Serves on College committees
Assist with Inventory Control
Assist with rehearsal techniques
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Bands
Qualifications:
Knowledge of band rehearsal techniques
Knowledge of band arranging
Knowledge of marching band drill design
Knowledge of inventory control
Knowledge of student management
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Must have a Bachelor’s of Music or related field
Ability to travel in and out of state for band related activities
Must have valid driver’s license.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
