Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant manages the daily operations of the office and serves as principal and confidential assistant to the supervisor. Maintain confidentiality of the official files and records for the office. Perform administrative support duties, maintaining a variety of reports, such as time (i.e. sick leave, vacation time), attendance, personnel actions, payroll, correspondence and budget records. Coordinate meetings including scheduling, developing agendas, program materials and travel arrangements. Screen, record and route office mail and respond to telephone calls. Assist division faculty with various assignments upon request. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience required. Must have the ability to work under pressure and facilitate multiple detailed tasks. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must exhibit professionalism, integrity and confidentiality. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, English grammar, spelling and punctuation skills, office methods, procedures and practices. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing required.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
