Description:

Talladega College is looking for a dynamic Director of Media Relations and Creative Services to lead an integrated and impactful marketing, communications that will elevate the reputation, advance relationships with key constituencies, and support strategic priorities of the College. This position will require an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work in a fast pace environment. This position will report to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and serve as a key administrator in the College.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement digital and print marketing strategies to write and produce consistent and positive messaging that engages prospective students, alumni and donors.
• Plan and coordinate public relations strategies and media interactions.
• Maintain relationships with constituents and engage in the life of the College.
• Research and write press releases, story pitches, media alerts, tip sheets, student, faculty and alumni profiles.
• Identify and implement cost-effective and synergistic opportunities to support strategic initiatives for marketing and communications.
• Facilitate media interviews and press appointments for senior administration and serve as College spokesperson when appropriate.
• Coordinate the College's response and messaging for crisis communications in close collaboration with senior administration.
• Stay abreast of relevant trends in education and best PR practices, incorporating new techniques as appropriate.
• Set priorities for website, digital, and social media.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree required.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the PR, Media, Communication or related field.
• Demonstrated verbal, written, and relationship building skills, with a proven ability to write in a variety of formats.
