The main responsibility of the Talladega College Police Department (TCPD) is to serve and protect students, faculty, and staff. TCPD provides a full range of police services. The Department enforces state, federal, and local laws and regulations through active foot and mobile patrols.
Officers of the Talladega College Police Department have police authority. They have the authority of the College to apprehend persons involved in illegal criminal activities. Reports of students, faculty, or staff involved in criminal acts and/or violations of the Talladega College codes of conduct are referred to the Vice President of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, for review and referral of adjudication.
Supervisors of the TCPD are trained through the North East Alabama Police Academy (N.E.A.P.A.) located at Jacksonville State University. They meet the standards for Certified Officers Standards and Training Commission. Our officers are selected on the basis of experience, training and the ability to adapt to the demands of campus law enforcement.
Criminal activity and other emergencies should be reported to the Talladega College Police Department by telephone (Extensions 6291 or 8806), or in person. We are located on Martin L. King, Jr. Drive, next to the Callanan Union Building.
The TCPD patrols parking areas and issues citations for violations of the College’s parking rules and regulations. Vehicles operated by faculty and staff are parked in the areas they are assigned to work. Vehicles operated by students are parked in the parking lot of their assigned dormitory/resident hall. Alternate parking areas are the Callanan Union parking lot, and the parking lot located on corner of College Street/Martin L. King, Jr. Drive.
No alcoholic beverages are permitted on campus. The Talladega College Police Department enforces all state laws regarding the possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages on campus.
The Talladega College Police Department enforces all state and federal laws concerning the possession, manufacture, or sale of illegal drugs. Any person apprehended in possession of, using, or selling illegal drugs is subject to arrest and disciplinary action through the campus judicial system.
It is the policy of Talladega College that the following is expressly prohibits by the College, and any faculty, staff, or student in violation is subject to immediate disciplinary action(s):
In cases where students, faculty, and staff are found guilty of violating Talladega College’s Substance Abuse Policy, such individual(s) will be suspended from the institution, from its employ (without pay) and required to seek professional counseling for a minimum of one semester before being eligible for re-admittance or re-employment. In either case, proof of counseling will be a prerequisite for reconsideration. The College will make every effort to assist the individual in securing professional counseling.
In all instances, payment for the services, as required above, will be at the expense of the individual. If the student or employee fails or refuses to seek professional counseling, that individual’s relationship with Talladega College will be permanently severed.

If you believe you are a victim of this behavior, then contact your supervisor immediately, and if you are unable to communicate with your supervisor, then you must contact the Human Resources Department as soon as possible. A complete and immediate investigation will follow your complaint.

The harasser may be the victim’s employer, supervisor, co-worker, employee, college official or classmate. Sexual harassment may also include:
Violation of this policy will lead to discipline, including termination.
