Talladega College opens the academic year with Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III

Talladega, Alabama—Talladega College opens the academic year with Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III for the opening convocation on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 10am in the Tornado Alley Gymnasium. Dr. Haynes is an author, radio host, and most commonly recognized as Senior Pastor at Friendship-West Church in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Haynes has served as Friendship-West’s pastor for the past 29 years, and has grown the congregation from hundreds to a nearly 12,000. He leads with a commitment to Christ, passion for people, and yearning for community transformation. Dr. Haynes champions social change through his service on numerous boards including the National Action Network, the Conference of National Black Churches, and MLK Memorial Foundation.

Each year, Talladega College invites renowned business, religious, and political leaders address students, faculty, staff, and community members at convocations throughout the year.
