Talladega College Celebrates Founder's Week

 

TALLADEGA COLLEGE CELEBRATES FOUNDERS WEEK

Monday, October 28 2013 – Talladega College is set to celebrate the 146th year since its founding with a celebration on Battle Street. The Battle for Greatness will bring together students, alumni, friends and faculty to celebrate the school and promote the upcoming Rising Up Mural Tour for Hale Woodruff’s Amistad Murals.

"We are so excited to recognize all of the returning alumni and celebrate Talladega’s founding. The theme,

Battle for Greatness is in the grand spirit of our proud institution and will be an amazing weekend," said Talladega College President, Dr. Billy C. Hawkins.

The weekend kicks off with a Coronation for the reigning Miss Talladega, Tami Johnson, at the DeForest Chapel at 7 PM. The Parade starts at 10 AM on Saturday morning and leads right into the Tailgate Battle, Luncheon and BBQ Battle. The Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams play a doubleheader at Tornado Alley starting at 3 PM and the President’s Alumni Reception closes the night. Convocation at 9 AM Sunday morning closes out the weekend that will be one to remember.
