Christopher Anderson

Chief of Police

Chris Anderson began his law enforcement career in 1995 with the Birmingham Police Department, proudly following in his mother’s footsteps. Over 28 years of service, he became a highly respected homicide investigator, solving more than 92% of his cases with a 100% conviction rate. His work extended to robbery, burglary, and narcotics investigations, and his reputation grew nationally through his role on A&E’s The First 48 – Birmingham. In 2011, he
was promoted to Sergeant, and after retiring from Birmingham PD in 2016, he continued his pursuit of justice as co-host of Investigation Discovery’s Reasonable Doubt, where his investigations have led to the release of five wrongfully convicted individuals. Today, Anderson serves with distinction as the Chief of Police at Talladega College, where he has proudly led the department for three years while also serving as a guest lecturer at his alma mater.

Beyond policing, he dedicates his time to mentoring as the Mentoring Director for the 100 Black Men of Metro Birmingham and as President of Omega Psi Phi’s “Lifting as We Climb Foundation.” He is the author of The Case: Kayla’s Investigation, which reached #6 on Amazon’s Best-Seller list, and co-author of Man, You Are Crazy. His podcast, Crime and Cookie Juice, ranks among the top 2% globally, reflecting his commitment to advancing conversations
about justice, leadership, and the future of law enforcement.
