Taran McZee,Ph.D.

Chief of Staff to the President, Title IX Coordinator

Dr. Taran L. McZee is a distinguished leader in higher education, now serving as the Chief of Staff to the President. He brings a strong commitment to institutional excellence, belonging, and student success.

Previously, Dr. McZee was the Vice President for Belonging & Culture and Title IX Officer, where he led initiatives that enhanced campus climate and accountability. His expertise includes organizational development, executive coaching, crisis response, and strategic planning.

A respected voice in higher education, Dr. McZee serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE) and the Black Boys & Men National Symposium board.

Dr. McZee holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies & Evaluation from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Community Leadership, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the HEED Award from INSIGHT into Diversity.

In his role as Chief of Staff as a member of the President’s Cabinet, Dr. McZee is dedicated to advancing the College’s strategic goals and fostering a culture of excellence.  He will serve as the College’s Title IX officer and spearhead male initiatives.
