Charles E. Stallworth was born in Opp, Alabama and grew up in the neighboring city of Evergreen. Upon graduating with Honors from Hillcrest High School. Dr. Stallworth enrolled at Miles College and began his college career by pursuing a degree in English and helped to charter Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society within the Division of Humanities. Dr. Stallworth graduated Summa Cum Laude and began his career in both marketing and corporate America.
Dr. Stallworth began his career in higher education at Miles College in 2011 as an English Instructor. He served in multiple capacities and held positions such as: Assistant Professor of English, Director of the First and Second Year Enrichment programs within the Office of Strategic Initiatives. He was also the Coordinator for the Quality Enhancement Plan, Director of Alumni Affairs, and the Director of Annual Fund within the Office of Institutional Advancement.
His senior-level administration experiences include being the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Miles College for nearly four years. Then he was appointed to serve as the Vice President of Enrollment Management in November 2023 and later positioned to serve as Executive Administrator in the Office of the Provost. Dr. Stallworth earned his PhD in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University.
He is excited to join the Talladega College family and support the President and his administration in moving the Institution to even higher heights. He is prepared to be a servant leader and ensure that Student Affairs and Enrollment Management are student-centered and student-focused. His dream is for students to graduate from Talladega College with a degree that encompasses: scholarship, preparedness, holistic experiences, and the tenacity to join the global society.
