Dr. Marc Love, ’93

Dr. Marc Love (’93) is an experienced healthcare professional with more than 20 years of experience in the hospital, consulting, ancillary, and health plan arenas.  Recently, he began working with WellCare Health Plans, Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia, as the State Chief Operationg Officer–Georgia. Prior to this position, he served in the capacity of vice president of Managed Care Operations for PHP, a Medicare Advantage HMO, and PHC, a Medicaid Managed Care HMO.  Both plans are special-needs plans focusing on HIV/AIDS and wholly owned subsidiaries of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which provides medical care to over 800,000 patients in over 36 countries.
  
As vice president of operations, Dr. Love was the top health plan executive in Florida. His oversight of the health plans’ operations included provider network development, provider relations, utilization management, case management, sales, member services, claims, information technology, risk adjustment, compliance, and pharmacy operations. 
 
Earlier in his career, Dr. Love served in various leadership and management capacities, including director of insurance contracting for HCR Manor Care’s Heartland Division; senior director, Network Management, Coordinated Care Solutions; manager, Deloitte and Touche; and analyst for Howard University Hospital and University of Maryland Medical Center.  

Dr. Love earned a Doctor of Business Administration from Florida International University, a Master of Business Administration from Howard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Talladega College.
