Robert Dickerson is a seasoned executive and dedicated advocate for economic empowerment. As the Executive Director of the Birmingham Business Resource Center (BBRC) and CEO of Foundation Capital, he has been instrumental in fostering business growth and community development in Birmingham and beyond.
Dickerson founded the BBRC in 1996, a pioneering initiative that merged loan programs with capacity building and advocacy. Under his leadership, the BBRC has facilitated nearly $900 million in loans to businesses since its inception.
A graduate of Tuskegee Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Dickerson's commitment to community revitalization extends beyond the BBRC. He established Building Alabama Reinvestment (BAR), a statewide coalition dedicated to advancing community reinvestment efforts.
Dickerson's influence is felt nationally as the Chairman of the Board of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC).
He also serves on the boards of numerous organizations, including the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Birmingham Business Alliance, Lawson State Community College Foundation, and the Fair Housing Center of Northern Alabama.
