Robiaun R. Charles, Ed.D., CFRE

As managing director of ECG, Dr. Robiaun Charles brings more than 25 years of higher education and nonprofit experience in fundraising and philanthropy, community engagement, strategic planning, volunteer engagement, Marcomm, and DEIB.

Previously, Dr. Charles served as vice president with Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A), a leading global philanthropic management consulting firm, where she led and supported projects with more than a dozen universities, including Boston University, the National Cathedral School, the University of Cape Town, the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt University, and Wellesley College.

Before joining GG+A, Dr. Charles served as vice president for college advancement at Agnes Scott College. Through her leadership, Agnes Scott exceeded the goal of the College’s largest-ever comprehensive campaign, raising $116 million against a $100 million goal. She has also served in executive and administrative leadership roles at The University of Texas at Austin, the University of Evansville, and Johnson C. Smith University.

Dr. Charles has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being named a Kresge Advancement Fellow and a Turknett Leadership Character award nominee. In addition to serving as a member of the Talladega Board of Trustees, she is president of the Rollins College Alumni Board and national chair of the Rollins Fund.

Dr. Charles earned her Ed.D. in higher education and policy from Vanderbilt University, an M.P.A. in nonprofit administration from Georgia State University, and a B.A. in Philosophy from Rollins College.

She is the proud mom of Camille Charles, a sophomore at Spelman College.
