Mrs. Valerie D. Lewis-McGee, JD., Esq. has been Senior Corporate Counsel with Safeway Inc., a Fortune 50 company, since 1995. Ms. Lewis also represents Safeway on both the California Grocers Association Legal Advisory Committee and the California Retailers Association Legal Committee. She serves as Vice President of Board of Trustees at Alameda Health System (formerly Alameda County Medical Center) and has been its Trustee since December 2006.
Mrs. Lewis-McGee is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, Treasurer of the Youth Law Center the Board of the Oakland Ballet and the Heads-Up Advisory Board, has also served as a trustee of the Alta Bates Medical Center and is a past char of the Bay Area Urban League. Mrs. Lewis-McGee is a member of the California Chamber of Commerce Legal Protection and Reform Committees. Mrs. Lewis-McGee received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and is admitted to practice in both California and Michigan (inactive). Mrs. Lewis-McGee is a graduate of the University of Virginia where she was an Echols Scholar.
