Position Description
Talladega College invites qualified candidates for adjunct professors in applied instruments. This position reports to the Chair of the Music Department.
Adjunct Professors in Applied Instruments:
- Will provide weekly lessons and attend juries on campus.
- Should prepare students with technical studies and at least 2 pieces from standard classical repertoire at college levels.
- Are responsible for the preparation of students for juries, semester/senior recitals, competitions, and auditions for graduate schools.
- Will have abilities to teach their specialized instruments at all levels, beginner to advanced, and to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Shall adhere to all applicable regulations of the college and the music department and report to the Chair of Music Department.
Applied Instruction Hours
- Monday: 12 pm - 5pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9 am - 5 pm
Required Education
A minimum of a master’s degree in discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline
Required Work Experience
At least two years of teaching experience at the college or high school level
