Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Cybersecurity courses in the Computer Science program. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Department Chair and is slated to begin as early as spring 2024, but no later than fall 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
  • Teaching introductory to advanced undergraduate cybersecurity classes.
  • Teaching responsibilities include Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Network Security, Information Assurance, & other computer information science courses as assigned.
  • Teaching schedules may include in person, online, or hybrid instruction.
  • Teaching responsibilities to include innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom.
  • Participation in curriculum development, academic mentoring, department and division activities, and support of college activities.
  • Active service on department, division, and college committees.
  • Engagement in professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

  • MS in Cybersecurity, Computer Science (with cybersecurity concentration) or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. PhD Preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in higher education.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with colleagues and students, promoting diversity and equity.
  • Applicants with an interest in Ethical Hacking & Networking are preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching skills, good interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty.
  • Industry & entrepreneurial experience is useful.
