Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Cybersecurity courses in the Computer Science program. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Department Chair and is slated to begin as early as spring 2024, but no later than fall 2024.
Responsibilities
- Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Teaching introductory to advanced undergraduate cybersecurity classes.
- Teaching responsibilities include Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Network Security, Information Assurance, & other computer information science courses as assigned.
- Teaching schedules may include in person, online, or hybrid instruction.
- Teaching responsibilities to include innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom.
- Participation in curriculum development, academic mentoring, department and division activities, and support of college activities.
- Active service on department, division, and college committees.
- Engagement in professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- MS in Cybersecurity, Computer Science (with cybersecurity concentration) or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. PhD Preferred.
- Three years’ experience in higher education.
- A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with colleagues and students, promoting diversity and equity.
- Applicants with an interest in Ethical Hacking & Networking are preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching skills, good interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty.
- Industry & entrepreneurial experience is useful.
