Audio Visual/Infrastructure Administrator

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the implementations of IT procedures and policies of the organization as well as perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and backups. The incumbent is required to assist in network troubleshooting and provide end-user support about their hardware and software problems. Infrastructure administrators must also implement policies regarding security, network usage, and disaster recovery. Maintain and troubleshoot audio and equipment. Prepare and position audio and equipment for broadcasts and recordings. Connecting, tuning, and configuring AV setups to ensure high-quality broadcasting. Operate software to control AV technologies.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation.
  • Establish service level agreements with end users.
  • Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on.
  • Manage and ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities for upgrading and updating the audio video infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain usage policies for audio video equipment for guests and team members.
  • Provide outstanding guest and team member service while performing the assigned duties, including interpreting and conveying information, answering questions, and assisting guests, vendors, and associates with AV issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, or arrange for the outside repair of all AV equipment as needed.
  • Assist in the setup, design and operation of live event sound and lighting systems, as necessary or required.
  • Work with third-party production companies to coordinate live events.
  • Work with the appropriate department, vendors, and clients to develop system requirements and set up AV equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in performing all aspects of their assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide a variety of accurate and timely reports, logs, and forms, as required by Management.
  • Create, update, and respond to support tickets in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the workplace remains safe through the training, mentoring and use of the established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Effectively and efficiently work under established time and cost constraints to meet requested deadlines for all audio-visual set-ups, connections or repairs and other work-related projects.
  • Assist in protecting and safeguarding all company assets.
  • Perform duties with minimum supervision and make good judgement calls for system issues.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field plus 1-3 year experience with Audio Visual or 4-6 years equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced training certifications may be advantageous.
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
  • Good teaching, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Complete understanding of any given audio signal path and the ability to troubleshoot both digital, analog audio and visual systems.
  • Ability to identify audio, video, lightning, and communication cables.
