Job Summary:
The Director of the Student Activity Center/Student Programming & Events provides oversight for college student related events and activities. This position supervises utilization of the Student Activity Center [SAC] to ensure that programming is diverse, inclusive, and equitable to the college and community population. The Director is an active partner in college outreach & in reach; adheres to and enforces the student discipline [judiciary] process; actively participates in student life & engagement; and directly reports to the Associate Dean of Student Life and Engagement. The position requires a flexible schedule with evening and weekend hours.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement holistic long- and short-term programming for campus activities & events, while maintaining involvement with Student Life & Engagement to garner participation and partnerships with students, student leadership, staff, faculty, and administration;
- Develop, organize, coordinate, and oversee cultural, educational, social, and student programming that aligns with the mission and vision of Talladega College in partnership with the division of Student Life & Success through Student Life & Engagement;
- Collaborate in the adherence of student grievances and complaints in accordance with Student Handbook and governing Student Code of Conduct;
- Supervise, train, and evaluate SAC student staff;
- Provide and demonstrate leadership, guidance, and mentoring for Registered Student Organizations [RSOs];
- Collaborate with entities of Talladega College to ensure implementation of programming and events that involve students and/or the SAC;
- Recommend qualified students to serve as campus representatives and encourage greater student participation;
- Participate in the development of marketing activities and services of the SAC;
- And other duties as assigned;
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred or equivalent related field of study.
