Job Responsibilities:

The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s network and systems infrastructure. This role supports hybrid and cloud-based environments, ensures high availability, and safeguards organizational data through modern security practices. The position leads and maintains disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to ensure rapid restoration of services in the event of system failures or disruptions. Additionally, this role promotes innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, improving system efficiency through automation, and continuously enhancing IT operations to align with evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure across Windows and macOS environments.
Deploy, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems.
Provide Tier II/III technical support for complex system and network issues.
Administer identity and access management, including role-based permissions.
Ensure network security, performance, and scalability to meet organizational needs.
Specific Duties:
Numerical Listing of the specific duties or performances necessary to carry out the above mentioned responsibilities.
Install, configure, test, and maintain servers, SANs, and networking equipment.
Perform and manage secure data backups and recovery processes.
Maintain network systems, including VPNs, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
Assist in network architecture design, including hybrid and cloud integration.
Provide cross-platform support for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
Deploy and manage network hardware, including switches, firewalls, and access points.
Ensure high availability and connectivity for all users, including remote staff.
Deliver advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system issues.
Maintain servers, applications, and services across physical and virtual environments.
Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and security procedures.
Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Conduct system audits and recommend upgrades or optimizations.
Monitor network performance using modern monitoring tools and dashboards.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and identity lifecycle processes.
Test and validate system updates, patches, and deployments.
Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
Configure and maintain Microsoft Active Directory and/or cloud identity services.
Manage endpoint protection systems (firewall, antivirus, EDR/XDR tools).
Administer cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Implement automation using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Support endpoint management systems (e.g., Intune, JAMF, or similar MDM solutions).
Implement and maintain zero-trust security models and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Monitor logs and security alerts using SIEM tools and respond to incidents.
Support collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
Maintain patch management and vulnerability remediation processes.
Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, NIST, ISO).
Participate in IT projects, including system migrations and cloud transformations.
Optimize network performance for VoIP, video conferencing, and SaaS applications.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve efficiency and security.
Qualifications:
Educational requirements, certification or licensing standards, experience and basic knowledge requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
Strong experience with Windows Server, macOS, and enterprise networking.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience with identity and access management (Active Directory, Azure AD, SSO, MFA).
Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including network security, endpoint protection, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Experience implementing and maintaining security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, EDR/XDR, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure access solutions.
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, etc.).
Proven ability to drive innovation by evaluating, recommending, and implementing new technologies, tools, and processes that improve system performance, security, and operational efficiency.
Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
Knowledge of endpoint management and mobile device management (MDM).
Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Experience supporting remote and hybrid work environments.
Familiarity with compliance standards (HIPAA, NIST, ISO).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
