Mission:

The mission of the Computer Science (CS) Department at Talladega College is to strive for excellence in creating, applying, and imparting knowledge in the Computer Information Systems (CIS) program. Graduates of the CIS program will be equipped to make valuable contributions to the field of cybersecurity, cyber operations, database, and networking. The program’s mission is aligned with the college’s mission statement and core values of excellence; to teach high-quality educational programs and perform innovative research, thus being preeminent in all that we do.

The CS Department offers three majors, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, and Cybersecurity. The department has a partnership with Business Enabled Acquisition & Technology (B.E.A.T.), LLC, a global small business administration cybersecurity and information technology solutions provider headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, which includes offering internship opportunities to Talladega students. Interns engage in a guided work experience using emerging technologies and industry standards.

Additionally, interns are expected to work on weekly projects solo or as team members while contributing to advance the B.E.A.T. Innovation Team and Cybersecurity Division.

Talladega College always strives for innovation and excellence in education. As a result, the institution is in the final stages of planning for a state-ofthe-art Cybersecurity Training Center focusing on cybersecurity education and research, including multidisciplinary programs and certificates, outreach activities, and industry partnerships.
