Professor Joseph Oniah is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Talladega College, bringing decades of combined experience in engineering and higher education. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Professor Oniah has taught at Talladega College across multiple periods since 1987, most recently serving since Spring 2023. He provides instruction in a wide range of mathematical disciplines, including Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Linear Algebra. His contributions extend beyond the classroom through curriculum development and student mentorship, particularly via supervision of work-study students.
Before returning to academia full-time, Professor Oniah served as an Assistant Project Engineer with the Alabama Department of Transportation, where he specialized in road and bridge design, materials testing, stormwater procedures, and infrastructure inspection, holding multiple technical certifications.
