Nicki Arnold SwindleMDiv, LICSW, BCC-MH,

Director of Social Work Practicum Education and Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work

The Rev. Nicki Arnold Swindle is a Board-Certified Clinical Mental Health Chaplain, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, and Certified Family Life Chaplain. She recently began her role as Director of Social Work Practicum Education and Assistant Professor at Talladega College while also serving as an Army Reserve Chaplain with the 83rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Nicki previously served as a VA and Army Reserve Hospital Chaplain with the 75th Field Hospital, a relationship educator, and Interim Director of Practicum Education at Talladega College. A registered yoga teacher, she also volunteers with the Veterans Yoga Project. Her work has centered on supporting military service members, Veterans, and their families—especially around invisible wounds such as PTSD, moral injury, and traumatic grief. At the heart of her ministry and clinical work is the belief that healing involves restoring relationships—within oneself, with others, and with God or greater transcendence—through connection, holistic wellness, and mending brokenness.

Beyond her professional roles, Nicki is a former foster parent, adoptive parent, and proud grandparent. She and her spouse, Jeff, are best friends who love to travel together. In her free time, Nicki takes on ultramarathons, sometimes finishing and other times simply appreciating the journey.
