Seongno Yoon, Ph.D. has strong academic, teaching, and industry credentials in Cybersecurity and Computer Information Systems (CIS). Dr. Yoon holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Ajou University (Korea), an M.S. in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Academically, Dr. Yoon teaches graduate students cybersecurity courses at Talladega College. Before he joined Talladega College, Dr. Yoon taught a wide range of CIS courses at Edward Waters University and Savannah State University, covering areas such as programming, data science, information security, web and mobile development, databases, networking, and visual analytics. He emphasizes active learning, integrating real-world experience, collaborative exercises, and current events into his teaching.
He highlights strong student mentorship, noting that several undergraduate students under his supervision were accepted into Carnegie Mellon and Columbia University graduate programs, published research papers, and gained peer-reviewed journal publications.
