Dr. Virginetta S. Cannon

Associate Professor, Biology

Dr. Virginetta Cannon joined the Talladega College faculty as an associate professor of biology in 2021. Previously she taught at Georgia State University, Georgia Piedmont Technical College, Georgia Perimeter College, Spelman College, and Morehouse College. She also was a research consultant at the Tuskegee University Center for Cancer Research and was a senior scientist at the Morehouse School of Medicine Neuroscience Institute. In 2002, Dr. Cannon was a visiting professor at the University of Washington Friday Harbor Laboratories.

She is a member of several professional organizations including American Society for Cell Biology, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Black Microbiologist Association.
