Dr. Xiaopu Peng is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Talladega College.
With his background expertise in both data science analysis and economics, his research interests lie in the general area of energy efficient and sustainable development of managment system for the computing platforms with state-of-art data science techniques, since his PhD study at Auburn University. Dr. Peng has contributed to his field through publications such as "Exploiting Renewable Energy and UPS Systems to Reduce Power Consumption in Data Centers" and "REDUX: Managing renewable energy in data centers using distributed UPS systems".
Recently, his interest lies in general AI knowledge and AI tools application like AI in Higher
Education.
It has always been a pleasure for Dr. Peng when teaching and interacting with the students. As Confucius says,
Isn’t it pleasant to review the old knowledge, and obtain new meanings from it? Dr. Peng always find himself
obtaining new and deeper understanding of the teaching material or on how to present it more effectively, and is therefore also highly beneficial to his research work. In recent years, he had also practiced research based
teaching style to inspire students with active motivation to explore specific topics for an active attitude to their future career.
Dr. Peng is now ready to engage more to the college services and contribute his teaching and research to community engagement efforts.
