The Westside Community Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (WSCCME) in Atlanta, GA. will feature Talladega College during its virtual HBCU Sunday program on January 30, 2022, at 11 AM EST.
WSCCME has been hosting HBCU Sundays for over four years. The program is held on the fifth Sunday of every month to increase awareness and promote donor engagement throughout the community.
“We encourage our members to become lifelong donors,” said Carl Montgomery, retired educator, and member of WSCCME. “We want HBCU's to continue to thrive and survive as primary options for completing higher education.”
Since its inception, WSCCME’s HBCU Sunday program has been highlighting the achievements of HBCU's such as Lane College, Miles College, Paine College, Texas College, and the Interdenominational Theological Center.
“We are elated to have been selected to participate in Westside Community Christian Methodist Episcopal Church’s HBCU Sunday program,” said Dr. Lisa Long, acting president of Talladega College. “Donor participation is so important to the vitality of HBCU’s; we truly appreciate the efforts of the church in promoting our institution.”
The church’s Lay Council has made the program an essential component of its outreach ministry and is dedicated to supporting HBCU's outside the confines of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and plans to continue its efforts for years to come.
