Talladega College is proud to announce the official appointment of Perry H. Trice, MLIS, BFA, as Director of the William R. Harvey Museum of Art. Trice has served as interim director for the past year and has contributed to the museum's curatorial efforts since 2022.
With a Master of Library and Information Science from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Georgia State University, Trice brings a distinctive blend of scholarly training and artistic insight to the position. In addition to his new role, he will continue to serve as the Special Collections Librarian/College Archivist—a pairing that enhances the museum’s mission by integrating archival research into exhibition development.
“Being entrusted with the stewardship of the William R. Harvey Museum of Art is both a professional honor and a personal joy,” said Trice. “I look forward to continuing to celebrate art, history, and culture with our students, faculty, and community, while also planning this year’s exciting lineup for the Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series.”
Dr. Willie L. Todd, Jr., President of Talladega College, expressed confidence in Trice’s leadership: “Mr. Trice’s deep commitment to Talladega College and his interdisciplinary expertise make him uniquely suited to lead the William R. Harvey Museum of Art into its next chapter. His dual roles will ensure that the museum remains both academically grounded and artistically vibrant.”
The William R. Harvey Museum of Art is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the academic year. Weekend visits are available by appointment. Community members and organizations interested in booking private events or corporate meetings at the museum are encouraged to call 256-761-6400.
