Talladega College Announces New Partnership with Prep U Collegiate Beginning Fall 2026

Talladega College is proud to announce a new partnership with Prep U Collegiate beginning in Fall 2026, bringing renewed energy, football, and enhanced student engagement to the historic campus.
Through this partnership, Prep U Collegiate student-athletes will enroll as Talladega College students while competing in a club football program. While not an official Talladega College affiliated sport, participants will be fully integrated into campus life and the Talladega community.
The collaboration will include select football games hosted on campus, creating opportunities for students, alumni, the band, and supporters to engage in game-day traditions. The initiative also sparks early conversations about the potential return of varsity football, building on Talladega’s storied legacy as a two-time Black College Football National Champion in the 1920s.
“This partnership represents much more than football,” said Dr. Willie L. Todd, Jr., President of Talladega College. “Those students participating in this sport will also have the opportunity to experience our commitment to academic excellence. Overall, this joint venture enhances the student experience, increases campus engagement, and reconnects us with an important part of our history.”
