Talladega College Appoints Paula G. Love as Chief Financial Officer

Talladega College has named Paula G. Love as its new chief financial officer. Love brings more than 20 years of higher education leadership experience in finance, operations, compliance, and institutional strategy to the role.

Throughout her career, Love has held senior leadership roles at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across Tennessee, South Carolina, and Texas. Her executive oversight has included financial management, facilities, information technology, risk management, auxiliary operations, and capital projects.

“Ms. Love will play a key role in the positive strides we have made at Talladega College over the past year,” said Willie L. Todd Jr., president and CEO. “One of our strategic priorities is to continue to strengthen the College’s financial stability and integrity. We are confident that Ms. Love’s experience will keep Talladega forging onward.”

Love has established a track record of collaborating with college presidents, boards of trustees, auditors, and external partners to modernize financial systems, ensure clean audits, manage major capital initiatives, and align institutional resources with strategic priorities.

Since 2017, Love has served as a finance peer evaluator for The Commission on Colleges and Universities (formerly SACSCOC), participating in on-site, fifth-year, and special committee reviews. Her accreditation expertise spans institutional effectiveness, financial oversight, physical resources, safety, and fundraising compliance.

Love holds a Master of Business Administration from Union University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and management from Lambuth University. She has also completed executive leadership programs through Clark Atlanta University, the Council of Independent Colleges, and the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers.
