Talladega College Employees Make Christmas Brighter for Head Start Children
December 19, 2025
Talladega College employees united this holiday season to spread joy and support to children and families served by the Talladega Head Start Center through a collective donation of Christmas gifts and essential items. The effort, driven by the generosity of faculty, staff, and administrators, will help ensure that dozens of local children experience a holiday season filled with warmth, care, and hope.
Cynthia Garrett, Director of the Talladega Head Start Center, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the effort and spirit of collaboration. “I think it's wonderful that everyone is collaborating in the community, and this is a big help because we do serve low-income children and families. So, this is a big help to the children and the parents for Christmas,” she said.
Talladega College President Dr. Willie L. Todd, Jr. shared that the initiative reflects the College’s commitment to service, compassion, and uplifting the Talladega community. “At Talladega College, we believe our responsibility extends beyond the classroom. Supporting our local families, especially during the holiday season, demonstrates who we are at our core as an institution grounded in service, humanity, and community partnership. We are honored to share in the joy of the season with the children of Talladega Head Start.”
Vice President for Institutional Advancement Tia Wright-Richards noted that the initiative exemplifies the power of collective action and purposeful giving.
“This initiative is a testament to what happens when people come together with love, intention, and a shared commitment to making a difference,” Wright-Richards said. “Our team is proud to support families right here in Talladega, and we look forward to continuing this spirit of generosity, connection, and service in the years ahead.”
Through efforts such as this, Talladega College continues to strengthen its role as a trusted community partner, reinforcing its mission to uplift children and families while fostering lasting relationships that positively impact the broader Talladega community.
