Talladega College is proud to offer a variety of scholarships to help talented and motivated students achieve their academic goals. Whether you are a new or transfer student, there may be a scholarship opportunity for you.
To be eligible for these scholarships, you must:
- Maintain a strong academic record. A minimum GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale).
- Provide proof of graduation. Official transcripts are necessary.
- Enroll full-time. You must be enrolled in at least 15 credit hours per semester.
- Complete the FAFSA. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to be considered for federal and state aid, as well as many institutional scholarships.

Academic Scholarships/Grant-in-Aid Waivers
Based on availability, the college offers institutional scholarships and tuition and fee waivers to first time college freshmen and junior college or community college graduates. Minimum qualifications include:
- a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) and official proof of graduation for all scholarship applicants;
- all scholarship recipients must enroll and maintain a minimum of 15 hours each semester during the academic year; and
- all applicants must apply for Federal Financial Aid by completing the Federal Financial Aid application packet.
Scholarships and Memorials
- The Daniel Hand Fund Scholarships - The Daniel Hand Fund provides annual scholarship aid to United Church of Christ (UCC) related AMA institutions that educate persons of African descent.
- The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation Scholarships - For the aid and benefit of poor and deserving Christian girls and women in nine Southeastern states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia).
- The Farris Shorter Annual Scholarship - For a student who is a History major with a GPA of no less than 3.- and preference is given to a male who is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. The selection of the student shall be made by the Scholarship Committee. The student shall be eligible to receive the Scholarship the following award year should he or she maintain the minimum GPA requirement.
- The Dr. Preston B. Rowe Annual Scholarship - The award recipient shall have a GPA of no less than 2.5, is a psychology major, engages in community service, of good character, and be a student studying Psychology and is a student in good standing with Talladega College. The selection of the student shall be made by the Scholarship Committee. The student shall be eligible to, but not automatically , receive the Scholarship the following award year should he/she maintain the minimum GPA and remain a student in good standing.
- The Coach Charles "Chuck" Elliott Annual Scholarship - The award recipient shall have a GPA of no less than 2.5, engages in community service, of good character, and be a member of the men's basketball team in good standing. The student shall be eligible to, but not automatically, receive the Scholarship the following award year should he maintain the minimum GPA and remain a student in good standing.
