To cap off an exciting weekend for Talladega College, the award-winning television, stage, and film actor S. Epatha Merkerson surprised attendees of the 150th Commencement by announcing a generous gift of $1 million on May 4.

The Talladega College Board of Trustees announced today that they voted unanimously to name Dr. Willie L. Todd Jr. the 22nd president of Talladega College. Todd has served as the president and chief executive officer of Denmark Technical College (DTC) in Denmark, South Carolina since 2020.

To be honored with Doctors of Humane Letters are William J. Bynum, Rockell Metcalf ‘85 and S. Epatha Merkerson who will also serve as commencement speaker.
