Talladega College Receives CAE-CD Designation

May 27, 2022

Talladega College can now combat the rapidly growing cybersecurity vulnerabilities through its designation as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD).

CAE-CD designations are valid for five academic years, after which institutions must reapply to retain their title. The College’s designation is valid through 2027.

To qualify for one of the CAE designations, institutions must ensure their programs are closely aligned with specific cybersecurity-related knowledge units validated by experts.

The recent achievement was an effort led by Talladega College’s Computer Science Department, which prepares students not only for graduate studies but also for the global community by teaching high-quality educational skills to individuals new to the field or those ready to boost their careers.

“This designation will equip our students with essential skills in today’s job market,” said Dr. Lisa Long, acting president of Talladega College. “I am extremely grateful to Dr. Syed Raza and a host of other contributors for their hard work in ensuring that the College remains a viable resource throughout the state and the local community.”
