In August of 2020, Deion Sanders shocked many of his fans. It’s not because of anything that the former college football sensation and NFL Hall of Famer did on the football field. Always unpredictable, Sanders pulled one of his biggest juke moves by earning his bachelor’s degree from Talladega College’s FASTtrack Program.

Talladega College will hold its annual Baccalaureate Service for its class of 2025 on May 2. The speaker will be Rev. Ricky J. McKinney '80, pastor of Weeping Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa.

Talladega College has been awarded a $345,000 State Crisis Intervention Program grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) to enhance public safety and promote community well-being. This initiative, led by Talladega College Campus Police Department chief Christopher Anderson, will focus on critical issues, including gun violence prevention, community safety, mental health support, and suicide prevention.

On April 3, Talladega College held a press briefing to provide updates on the progress that the College has made since its September 2024 press conference. Rica Lewis-Payton ‘81, chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough, interim president, and Bill Bynum, CEO of Hope Enterprise Corporation/Hope Credit Union, spoke about steps that have been taken to improve the college's financial health.

Talladega College was named a Voter Friendly Campus, one of 272 campuses in 39 states and the District of Columbia by Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. The initiative recognizes institutions that have planned and implemented practices that encourage their students to register and vote.
