Job Summary

Talladega College seeks a biology faculty member for a tenure-track appointment beginning Fall 2020.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include teaching introductory biology for non majors and majors including labs as well as other courses in the biology curriculum. Broad training and experience in life sciences and health professions desired.
  • Other responsibilities include student academic advisement, maintaining office hours and active participation in department and college service. Serve on department and college committees. Other academic duties as required.

Qualifications:

Preferred Ph.D. in Biology, or closely related field, with at least 18 graduate hours in biology. Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level. A commitment to student engagement and learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
