CAEP Impact Measures

Measure 1 (Initial): Completer Effectiveness (R4.1)

Over the past five years, the program has produced only three graduates, two of whom have pursued teaching as a career. The EPP utilized two tools to measure the success of their graduates, the Alabama Teacher Growth Program (ATGP) and the Alabama Teacher Observation Tool (ATOL), as mandated by the completer's school district. The ATGP offers ongoing assessment of a teacher's ability to implement the Alabama Core Teaching Standards (ACTS), improve their instructional methods, seek professional support, and enhance student performance. The program includes a Self-Assessment, a Professional Learning Plan, and an optional Professional Practice Diagnostic. The completer, who taught kindergarten exclusively for four years, underwent evaluation using this program.

For the 2022-2023 academic year, the completer started teaching at a new school and was evaluated using the Effective Learning Environments Tool (ELEOT) during the fall and spring semesters. The principal provided qualitative comments and rated the teacher at an average score of 3.25 in the fall and 2.82 in the spring on a 4.00 scale. The evaluation results indicated that the teacher utilized evidence-based instruction, and no areas of concern were reported.

Measure 2 (Initial): Satisfaction of employers and stakeholder involvement (R4.2|R5.3)

The ALACTE New Teacher Employer Survey asks principals and other school administrators to evaluate our completers who are in their first year of employment. Our most recent data shows that our students are performing at or above their state of Alabama counterparts in all InTASC categories which were measured.
