Talladega College seeks applications for Director of Intramural Sports for the 2020-21 school year.

Job Summary

Developing, supervising, and promoting intramural activities designed to meet the recreational needs of students, faculty, and staff. This is a full-time, nine (9) month position which will report directly to the Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities
  • Recruiting, hiring, evaluating, and certifying all intramural student employees.
  • Developing all budget requests.
  • Coordination and utilization of schedules and maintenance needs of recreational facilities, to include but not limited to the gym and intramural fields.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for intramural programs.
  • Evaluation of intramural programs and activities.
  • Interpretation of guidelines and statutes involving Intramural Sport Councils.
Qualificatons
  • Master's Degree in Recreation required (Master's degree preferred) or a closely related field.
  • A Minimum of four years' experience in a collegiate recreational sports setting.
  • Experience as a Director of Intramural Sports.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
