Job Summary

Talladega College welcomes applications and nominations for the position of Chair of Accounting and Finance in the Division of Business Administration. The Chair of Accounting and Finance will assist the Dean of the Division of Business Administration in leading and managing all aspects of the Division’s academic areas. This includes, but is not limited to academic program, program development, student learning/institutional effectiveness, faculty development and resource development.

  • Teaching, research, and service requirements as designated by the Dean and the Provost/VPAA.
  • Advising students.
  • Teaching a 5/5 load for the academic year.
  • Engage in student recruitment
  • Be available during registration, convocations, and graduation ceremonies.
  • Recommend a schedule of courses every semester.
  • Serve on division and college committees.
  • Competences in the use of technology.
  • Be willing to work with student organizations as an advisor.
  • Prepare required reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department, Dean or Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
  • Earned terminal degree required from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years teaching experience/New Graduates.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Dean, Division’s Administrative Staff, Faculty, and Students.
  • Demonstrated record of academic or professional accomplishments

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
