Talladega Alumni AssociationWarmest greetings from Talladega College! I would like to introduce myself as the new director of Alumni Affairs. I bring enthusiasm, creativity and drive, and my "Dega spirit" to this position. I look forward to helping you engage with TC in meaningful and beneficial ways. As a graduate and a former employee of TC, I recognize the unique connections that Talladega College alumni have with their alma mater and my goal is to help enhance the quality of your relationship with TC. My initial goals are to provide more effective communication, to strengthen bonds between alumni and the school, and to identify opportunities for alumni to impact and support the current students at TC. As the new Alumni Affairs director, I will strive to build strong bridges in relationships with current alumni as well as with future alumni. I am committed to connecting with our alumni and look forward to your involvement and participation in campus events, Homecoming/Founder's Week, Alumni Reunion Weekend, and the National Alumni Association. Please keep us informed of your current address, as well as your personal and professional achievements, so we can proudly report them in our publications. Talladega College is seeking a new level of expansion that can only come from you. We are looking to you for a mix of support that can come in a variety of ways, either through financial gifts, or gifts of time and talent. Every gift makes a difference. As a Degan, you are the best representation of the value of a Talladega College education. Please support our student athletes, join an alumni organization in your area, and advocate for TC whenever you get the chance. Offer your financial support to assist TC in its effort to provide scholarships for deserving students, establish endowed faculty support, and support capital projects that continue to enhance learning opportunities. As the new director of Alumni Affairs, I'm hoping this year results in renewed growth of alumni involvement. To those alumni already engaged, we can't thank you enough. To those looking to get involved, we can help you find the best way to reconnect with the College. It's a busy world, and we understand the challenging schedules we all face. That's why we've provided several options – with varying levels of commitment required – for becoming an ongoing part of the College:
Your support of TC, in whatever form, is important to building our success and excellence. Thank you for being committed and loyal alumni. I am excited to be a part of the Dega family in this capacity, and look forward to seeing some again and to meeting many others. Please feel free to contact me with your questions or comments. Many things have changed over the years, but one thing that still resonates loud and clear is the alumni LOVE for Dega. I am extremely honored to have been selected to serve TC in this capacity and I look forward to what is ahead. To contact the Alumni department, call 256-761-6205, or email alumni_affairs@talladega.edu. The Alumni Affairs office hours are 8:00 to 5:00, Monday thru Friday. My Very Best, Veronica E. Miller Director of Alumni Affairs |

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
