Students are encouraged to apply regardless of race, creed, color, national origin or disability. Admission to Talladega College is based on case-by-case basis with consideration given to several factors, including prior academic achievement, extracurricular activities and performance on either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). High school transcripts must reflect successful completion of four units of English, two units of Mathematics, three units of Social Studies, two units of Health or Physical Education, and electives. The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
