COMMENCEMENT AND NAMING CEREMONY View of Entrance Plaza
Talladega College will hold two historically
significant events during the weekend of August
14 -16, 2020.
A naming ceremony will be held for the Dr. Billy
C. Hawkins Activity Center, the first building on
campus to bear the name of one of Talladega’s
African-American presidents. In addition, the
College’s 145th Commencement Ceremony,
which was postponed due to the pandemic, will
be held during this momentous weekend. Details
will be announced in the coming weeks.
If you will be on campus for one or both of these
highly-anticipated events, we hope you will have
an opportunity to view the three exquisite new
buildings on campus.
New Student Center
The 47,000-square-foot student center/arena
will give Talladegans a great place to dine,
study, socialize and enjoy sports and other
activities. Naming opportunities are available
for the entry lobby, fitness room, dining area,
arena, VIP box and gaming room.
New Museum
The Dr. William R. Harvey Museum of Art
houses Hale Woodruff’s six critically-acclaimed
murals and other works of art, including
historically-significant pieces from the Talladega
College collection. Naming opportunities
are available for the board room, lecture hall,
reception lobby, Rising Up Gallery, reflecting
pool, Gallery 107, courtyard, wall spaces and
benches.
New Residence Hall
The 45,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art residence
hall was the first of the three new buildings to
open. Room naming opportunities are available
for the entry lobbies, group study rooms, student
lounges, honor’s units and honor’s suites.
