Talladega College is seeking applicants for a full-time, nine-month faculty position in the field of Social Work. We anticipate the successful candidate will start employment on August 6, 2020. This position provides coordination for the field education program in the Department of Social Work.

  • The successful candidate should be able to teach courses across the generalist BSW curriculum.
  • Work effectively with faculty, field instructors, and students
  • Manage application and pre-placement paperwork
  • Advise students about the field program
  • Conduct field program pre-placement meetings
  • Orientation for students and field instructors for field education
  • Updating Field Instruction Manual
  • Collect data on program and student evaluations
  • Assist program chair with compliance with Council on Social Work Education accreditation standards
  • Use of technology, including databases and electronic communication is expected.
  • Travel to placement sites for visits
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program
  • At least two years post-master's professional social work experience.

The history of Talladega College began on November 20, 1865, when two former slaves William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, both of Talladega, met in convention with a group of new freedmen in Mobile, Alabama.
